Wood box recycling is super easy. The packaging is compacted by presses, separating the metal parts with electromagnets.

Once clean, the wood is ground or splintered. After this process, it is used as compost for agriculture or to produce particle board for furniture or construction. It can even be used as fuel in the form of pellets or briquettes!

As you can see, the life of a wood box is very long thanks to recycling.

In Europe, the forested surface area grows by 300,000 hectares per year. Woodlands grown to produce wooden packaging contributes to this growth year after year.

The PEFC and FSC quality seals certify that wooden packaging is made with materials from sustainably managed forests and lands. Among many other things, this means that a new tree is planted for every tree felled.

Each hectare of woodland absorbs nearly 20 tonnes of CO2 a year. Thus, wild forests are essentially carbon drains which help prevent climate change.

Wood is a material that already exists in nature. This means the transformation process to packaging is quite simple and consumes very few resources.

The water footprint is an environmental indicator that defines the total volume of freshwater used to manufacture a product. When it comes to manufacturing wooden packaging, the water footprint is minimal or non-existent.

Due to the growing scarcity of water worldwide, the water footprint of consumables is becoming more and more important. Purchasing products with a low water footprint means choosing sustainability.
